Good bye Preschool

with accepting my new position, I've had to give up Preschool. That was so hard to make the call to the  chair of the preschool board. I will always have a special place in my heart for preschool children....

New Direction

My life took an interesting turn last week. My supervisor and I met to review client files last Monday. One of the first things she asked was, "Our PRAC (Prevention of Relationship Abuse) Coordinator has left. We are doing interviews today. Would you be interested in interviewing?"
I said, "Yes." and did the interview a few hours later. I was not at all prepared, had no time to even think about it, but I guess I did okay. I was offered the position  the next morning.
This means a few things will change for me. I am now full time for Healthy Families, Healthy Futures. And I have to quit teaching preschool. That is really hard for me. My heart hurts!
But being involved is such a wonderful organization is great. We will be getting new offices at the end of the month and hopefully getting word out in the communtity that we are here to help.

Weekend and Work

I am taking a break from housework, gardening and laundry! The boys are working with the neighbors hauling wood for next winter's heat! It's hard to think of that in this heat, but if it doesn't get done soon it will be areally cold winter! I finally figured out how to get my husband to do a job that needed doing! I asked him in front of the neighbors! Otherwise it tends to be left undone....forever! I wonder, does every wife have this problem?!

Hello World

Hi, I thought for my first post I would introduce myself... obviously I have children. Five, yes, I have counted them, 5 boys. Three are grown up already, but that doesn't mean you stop being a mom, you just parent in a "long-distance" way. My youngest two are 15 year old twins. They are also country boys. This means, that at the moment, I am not the "in" parent. I know little about cars, trucks, tractors and engines and I refuse to shoot gophers with them. It is just a waste of bullets with my eyesight! Yes, I can hit the broad side of a barn, but only from 10 feet away and only if the barn stands still....
As well as being a mom, I am also an Early Childhood Educator, which means I teach Preschool. I love preschool even though it will never earn my living. So that means I work a few other jobs too. I am also a Home Visitor for a program that mentors parents with barriers. And I teach First Aid, and I cater. And in my spare time (somewhere between midnight and 4 p.m.) I volunteer in our community.
So thats my crazy life today!
